Austin, TX – July 14, 2017 –Belen Marcos, US president and Tony Elkins, commercial director of Cintra, participated in panel discussions at the 29th Annual ARTBA Public-Private Partnerships in Transportation Conference in Washington, D.C., July 12-14.
During the session titled, “From the C-Suite – CEOs in the P3 Sector,” Ms. Marcos, along with Jennifer Aument, Group General Manager North America of Transurban and Nuria Haltiwanger, CEO of ACS Infrastructure North America discussed diversity and the current P3 climate in the U.S. As women in senior roles of a male-dominated industry, these three company leaders discussed their unique experiences within the industry, shared best practices for attracting and maintaining the best talent, and discussed how their company approaches diversity.
The group also shared their insights on the future of the P3 industry in the U.S. and how women-led companies are driving much of the activity. Ed Mortimer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce served as the moderator for this session.
Tony Elkins took part in the panel titled, “Encouraging P3’s in Transportation: Transforming Today’s Ideas into Tomorrow’s Reality,” which was moderated by Steve DeWitt, senior vice president for business development of ACS Infrastructure. Other panelists included Sidney Florey of Vinci Concessions, Joe Carpenter of Georgia DOT and Nick Donohue of Virginia DOT.
