Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas – September 19, 2018 – NTE Mobility Partners (NTEMP) operator of the North Tarrant Express (NTE) and the NTE TEXpress Lanes, and LBJ Infrastructure Group (LBJIG), manager of the LBJ Express (LBJ) and the LBJ TEXpress Lanes, have brought back the Tiny TEXpressers Car Seat Photo Contest for a second year. The social media photo contest will run for a total of five weeks and end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018. To enter, participants must submit a photo of their child (under 4 years old) properly seated and belted in a car seat, following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), inside a non-moving vehicle.

According to the CDC, motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among children in the United States. In addition, the NHTSA states that in 2015, 248 children ages 5 years and younger were saved by car seats. With proper car seat safety use, the risk of death for children in car crashes is greatly reduced by 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers.

Child Passenger Safety is an important issue that needs to be highlighted beyond September’s National Child Passenger Safety Week. To extend awareness, the LBJ and NTE TEXpress Lanes have launched the Tiny TEXpressers Car Seat Safety Photo Contest (http://tinytexpressers2018.hscampaigns.com/) for the second year in a row. As part of this awareness campaign, the LBJ and NTE TEXpress Lanes will share important safety materials and facts about child passenger safety and encourage parents to utilize the free resources provided by organizations like the CDC, NHTSA and the Texas Department of Transportation. As a reminder, this contest is solely sponsored by the LBJ and NTE TEXpress Lanes and is not affiliated with any other organization.

During the first three weeks of the contest, 15 semi-finalists will be randomly selected each week to receive a $100 gas card. During the final two weeks of the contest, the 20 top finalists randomly selected out of the 45 semi-finalists will have their photos displayed online at http://tinytexpressersvoting2018.hscampaigns.com/ and entered into a public voting contest. The public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite photo(s) beginning at 12:01 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21. The top three photos selected by popular vote will win a gas card valued at either $2,000, $1,000 or $500.

The contest is open to Texas residents who are 16 years of age or older. Contestants (the parent or legal guardian of the child whose photo is being submitted) are encouraged to submit a photo to the contest website page http://tinytexpressers2018.hscampaigns.com or through either one of the LBJ or NTE Facebook pages. Winning photos will be featured on the contest website, on social media pages, and the LBJ and NTE websites. “We are excited to bring the Tiny TEXpressers Photo Contest back for another year. The contest participants from last year seemed to really enjoy this creative campaign and so did we! Child Passenger Safety is an important issue that should be highlighted all year, not just during the month of September. Keeping our children safe while they are riding in a vehicle should be a top priority especially when car crashes are the leading cause of death for children. The statistics related to Child Passenger Safety are alarming, but they can be prevented through proper education. As a company, we hope this contest continues to spread awareness and encourage parents to utilize the countless safety resources and materials that are out there,” expresses Alberto Gonzalez, CEO for LBJ Express and North Tarrant Express.
